Today you will be picked up from the airport and be addressed about the trip before settling in your accommodation. Later you will be dropped off for your overnight stay at the Sarova Stanley Hotel.
After breakfast in the morning you will be driven north past the equator to the frontier district. From here you will continue to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve and check-in to your campsite. After lunch at the lodge there will be time for your to settle in before your safari adventure. After enjoying an afternoon game drive in the reserve you will return to the Samburu Game Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will set out for a full day of game driving in the reserve. The morning is the most popular game viewing time as the temperatures are low, providing a favorable atmosphere for both the wildlife and us! Lions, cheetahs, and leopards roam the vast grasslands here in search of their next meal. It may be an unsuspecting impala, or even a small warthog! Whatever the players, the spectacle of nature that unfolds here is always awe inspiring!
After breakfast you will depart for an early morning game drive in the reserve and then make your way to the reserve’s gate. Drive in a southerly direction to the equator, where you will make a brief stop. Here the locals will perform a water demonstration to certify the position of the equator. For a small tip you could be awarded an ‘equator certificate’! From here you will drive to Thomson Falls for a photo-stop and then head down into the Great Rift Valley.
As you ascend the eastern wall of the valley, lush coffee and tea plantations will reveal themselves and your driver-guides will give you a brief talk about coffee farming in the region. You will later check in at the Merica Hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.
Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at the hotel before checking out and driving to the Maasai Mara National Reserve via Narok town. The Mara is home to the Masaai tribe. These proud young warrior-nomads with their plaited hair, red cloaks and spears will challenge your curiosity.
The 700-square-mile game reserve is the Africa of your dreams – complete with wild animals grazing amid the superb rolling landscape of gentle hills and acacia woodlands. Check in to your camp and settle in before your first game drive. You will return to the lodge before dark for dinner and your overnight stay.
Today you have the opportunity to go on a hot air balloon ride. You’ll ascend in the early morning when winds are calmest. Watch as the professional crew fills the balloon with hot air and the big, colorful bag slowly begins to bulge and take shape. Now board the traditional wicker gondola basket while the expert pilot makes final adjustments. If you opt not to do a balloon ride, you will set out for a full day game drive in the reserve.

From here you will go on a drive to Lake Naivasha, which is the only fresh water lake in Great Rift Valley. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lake Naivasha Crater Lake Camp.
Located along Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley, Crescent Island Sanctuary is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and is often called Naivasha’s “best kept secret”. It is private, secure and patrolled by guides who can accompany anyone who wishes for a guided walk.
Surrounded by water, Crescent Island is actually a peninsula and is accessible by boat from the east or west. One can also access it in under two hours from Nairobi on tarmac road. The sanctuary’s shores host abundant birdlife, including huge numbers of pelicans, cormorants and fish-eagles with their haunting cry. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park.
